Found this little gem when I had to make a last minute trip to Seattle for a family medical emergency. Was looking for a place that was reasonably priced and that I could walk to the local hospital to avoid the additional expense of a rental car. College Inn Hotel was perfect! It is located in the middle of the U of W Campus and while there is a lot of activity during the day, the area is quiet at night. The hotel itself is in an older building, but they have renovated the rooms and brought them up to current standards. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and the room had a small desk, drawers and nice hanging rack. Although my room did have its own bathroom, some of the rooms do not and have access to a shared bathroom. Since it is an older building, it is pretty well sound proofed, so never had any issue with noise. The building is secured at the entrance to ensure only current customers can gain access. There is a coffee shop and several restaurants along with a small grocery store just a few doors down. It is easy to walk around the area and there is plenty of foot and car traffic to feel safe if walking at night. A shared kitchen is available to store food and make any meals you want. Local transportation is easy to access as well as a running/walking trail. It is also a great value for the area!

First off, as a student at UW many moons ago, I always walked by this cute building and was always intrigued by it. Unexpectedly, I received the opportunity to visit UW again and I was elated to stay here. Arriving at the hotel was fairly convenient. The hotel has two 15-minute check-in parking spots and there was ample paid parking on the streets. I would stress to pay IMMEDIATELY and avoid getting the $44 parking ticket. Additionally, there is a parking garage at the UW that is a few minutes walk away which is also convenient for in and out parking. The hotel has flair but is old. Be mindful that you will have to lug up your luggage several flights of stairs to check-in. However, if you want flair, convenience, and comfort then this is a great option. The bathrooms are very clean and only once on my two-day stay was someone else in the bathroom at the same time. My room with the view was beautiful. Overall I really enjoyed the charm.

Operating since 1909 (and listed on the National Register of Historic Places), this is a quaint, rustic throwback to early 20th century inns. If you're looking for modern with A/C, elevators and all the amenities, this is isn't for you. But if you're looking for a real experience of the U District, this is a great way to get into the swing of things. You're right in the heart of the U District and reliving college life. Lots of great eateries, bars, etc. and you're across the bridge from Seattle and the Space Needle. Do something different, give this place a go. Relive your wild college days while you're at it.

The location was great! quiet but still close to amenities. The room was clean and updated. For the price, the service, comfort, and facilities were very pleasant. The coffee shop and restaurant downstairs were very convenient! We loved the big windows that opened up for fresh air. Very close to the Burke Museum, which was well worth a visit.

We were visiting UW, so the location couldn't have been better. The hotel was nicely renovated, and we loved seeing the historic photos of the building and the area. The room was comfortable, clean, and our private bathroom was just right.
